Following someone in Twitter

Taken from Twitter's help page here.

What does it mean to follow someone on Twitter?
Following someone simply means receiving their Twitter updates. When you follow someone, every time they post a new message, it will appear in your Twitter home page. New messages are added to your home page as people post them, so you always get the updates in real time. When you log in, you can see what the latest updates are. Twitter offers other ways to follow people too: you can get updates from certain people on your phone!

How to follow someone in Twitter

To start receiving messages from a person, visit their profile page and click "follow" or send a text message to Twitter with the words "follow username" from your phone. You'll get messages from the people you've followed as soon as they update, and you can stop following anyone at anytime. Twitter is flexible-- you can follow people in a variety of ways. You can follow someone from:

* The web: click "follow" under any profile picture on Twitter. If an account is protected, the owner will have approve your follow request before you'll receive their updates. You can also import your contacts from your address book to find friends already using Twitter or invite friends who aren't on Twitter yet.

* SMS/text message: Send follow username in a text message to Twitter to start following someone from your phone. For example: follow biz.

* API or 3rd Party App: send follow username from any 3rd party application that supports the Twitter commands.

* Mobile web: if you have a mobile web browser, use m.twitter.com to follow others, just as you would on the regular web.

Pick the methods that work best for you, and keep you in touch while you're on the go. Stop following someone by visiting the profile page and clicking "remove" in the drop down box.
